In reply to Charlotte. Sure, but I'm not sure how much an MBA or EMBA really helps with private banking recruiting (it's not an area we track closely on this site). PB recruiting does tend to be more unstructured because they just want people who can win clients and generate fees, so there's less of a "path" than in other areas. So if you can show some evidence of that, you should have a good chance.

Thank you for all the useful information. I am reading all your articles and learning a lot, thanks for your hard work.
I am currently an EMBA student in France, planning a carrer switch. I am really interested in Finance, in particular the PB sector. However my experience is in guest relation (Hotel), I am still working while attending classes, since I considered it too risky to leave my job. I am quite young, 4 years experience after graduation and few interships before. I am definitely at ease in catering clients’ needs. Do you think I would have any chance in case I apply in a PB for a Jr position? I am looking forward to reading your advice. Thanks again!

Hi Brian, Thanks for complete explanation. I am MSc Wealth Management student at London with options of getting into Alternative Investments firm who is investing in Real Estate and Private Equity, and Private Banking Internship. I am excellent at making connections and network and everybody in Canary Wharf and City of London recommend me to go into Relationship Management roles because of my personality. What do you think?

In reply to Carl. Thanks for adding that. I'm not really sure how feasible that is, as there aren't too many actual front-office, investing-related AM roles in the first place (very low turnover in the industry and few spots for new hires).
