Not that I know of, sorry. You can find ‘courses’ and ‘interview guide,’ but most of these are rather useless because trading is all about experience and being able to point to a P&L. Answering interview questions is irrelevant next to your track record.

Yes, IB would be one alternative. Also equity research or sales & trading. But IB tends to be easier than those because there’s higher turnover and more positions in general, and they’re more likely to hire consultants.

Hi Brian, Thanks a lot for taking the time to reply! Really appreciate it. What would be a good in-between career step other than a Master’s in Finance? Would you have to move from Strategy Consulting to Investment Banking before breaking into a hedge fund? Is there an alternative?

I’m sure people have done it before, but strategy consulting is rarely a good way to get into hedge funds. You would have to find some type of fund that operates more like a PE firm or uses a strategy like activist investing and therefore values people with operational/strategy backgrounds. And then you would have to learn the accounting/finance on your own. A Master’s degree would help, but it’s mostly about work experience and fit.
